2023.02.07 Qingdao UNC Technology Co., Ltd.

With the Nord Stream gas pipeline leakage accidents, Europe's energy crisis is worsening, the European power market is accelerating towards the direction of runaway, many countries have increased the price of electricity several times compared to last year.

On September 28, local time, the price of electricity in most European countries, translated by the exchange rate, has far exceeded 2 yuan/KWH, and the price in Italy is as high as 3.16 yuan/KWH.

In the first half of September this year, for example, the average price of coal futures in Newcastle port of Australia was $438 / ton (equivalent to more than 3,000 yuan/ton), up 158% year on year, and the spot price of domestic coal ports was RMB 1,028 / ton, basically unchanged from the same period last year. UK, France, Germany market transaction electricity price rose to 4~10 times of the same period last year, while the average electricity price of Chinese power users only rose 10% compared with the same period last year, residential and agricultural electricity price remained stable, which effectively guaranteed the smooth operation of economic and social.

The conflict has led to a spike in energy and electricity prices in Europe, which have risen nearly tenfold in the past year. The European electricity market is clearly out of control, with prices in Germany and France hitting new records almost daily and fluctuating wildly. On August 29, the price of electricity in Germany and France for next year passed the €1,000 per megawatt-hour mark, but then plunged by more than 20% on news that EU gas storage is moving faster than expected and may be completed a month ahead of schedule.

Dutch gas futures, a bellwether for European gas prices, fell as much as 21 percent on Aug. 29 before closing down 16.9 percent at 282 euros per megawatt-hour. TTF gas futures rose nearly 40% last week, peaking at 339.2 euros per megawatt-hour.
